So it’s been awhile…
Hello world, welcome to the new website!
This is a MUCH improved version, thanks to my friend Kari Newhouse for her web style and prowess.
(check out her music, it’s pretty awesome – www.karinewhouse.com)
This is the plan:
I’ll be using this here space to share my audio and video engineering notions with you all. I’ve been a professional audio and video engineer, musician, radio programmer, consultant, dreamer and schemer for more than my adult life and I’m willing to share my insights, mistakes, wonders, and general things that I’ve stumbled upon with anyone who might have an interest in this kind of geeky-ness. Musicians and audio engineers might have learned about my exploits as the host and producer of the Audix Microphones videos (tons of them are right here) where I’ve explored drum miking, piano miking, live vocal techniques, and a whole lot more. I’ve also engineered live audio recordings for many well-known artists as the producer of the Kink.FM Live Performance Lounge (later the Bing Lounge) in Portland, Oregon, the KFOG Playspace in San Francisco, California and the live radio broadcasts for The Krush in Santa Rosa, California and the legendary K-Otter in Cambria/San Luis Obispo California. So all of this leads me up to the present, in which I continue to have the pleasure of producing and mixing music for amazing musical artists and sharing information on the art of recording.
This will be an interactive experience – I welcome your input on anything I happen to write on this blog – this is more art than science, and we are in it together. You are welcome to contact me directly via email or phone as well as connecting via Twitter and Facebook – whatever works well for you.
